Nina Dodge Abrams has been a family law attorney for the past 28 years. She is originally from Flint, Michigan and received her BBA, AMLS and MBA from the University of Michigan and her Juris Doctor from Loyola University of Chicago, School of Law. She worked as a librarian for almost 10 years before practicing law.
In her practice, Ms. Abrams handles divorce, child custody and support, property issues, guardianships and paternity. She frequently serves as a mediator for family law cases and as a hearing officer for the State of Michigan Discipline Board. She is an experienced litigator and practices all forms of alternate dispute resolution techniques, including collaborative law.
Ms. Abrams served as an officer and/or board member of the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Council, Women Lawers of Michigan, the Women Lawyers Foundation, Michigan Council for Family and Divorce Mediation, Michigan Inter- professional Association and Oakland County Bar Association Family Court Mediation Committee. She is active in the American Bar Association Family Law Section and is a member of the Elder Law Section. In addition, she serves on the OCBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and the Family Court Committee. She has served on numerous committees in the State Bar of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association. Ms. Abrams is a frequent speaker and writes on family law matters.
